(Episode 55) Presidential Minisode 11: Down with the Codfish Aristocracy!

What can we say about James K. Polk, Listeners?  This dark-horse candidate took a strong stance on annexing Texas (remember Manifest Destiny?) and made enough of a name for himself to surprise everyone by winning his party's nomination and, ultimately, the presidency.  He started a fight with Mexico, was sneaky about his own status as a slaveowner, and held office hours each week for anyone who wanted to stop by. 

Despite this, he was regarded generally as a pretty boring guy.  We've done our best to make him interesting.  Join us for this week's minisode, and learn a little more about the man whose body has been moved a whole bunch of times since his death.
